Spaghetti and tomatoe sauce
Spaghetti with plain tomatoe sauce
A simple meal for kids.
Ingredients:
- spaghetti
- fresh tomatoes or canned plum tomatoes
- onions
- olive oil
- Garlic or garlic spice
- Dried or freshly chopped Basil (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions
- While the spaghetti is cooking, blend tomatoes till smooth and cook gently on medium heat for 5 minutes
- Add garlic or garlic spice, salt and pepper to the tomatoe sauce and let the sauce cook for 10 minutes.
- Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it and add it to the tomato sauce.
- Toss the spaghetti with the sauce until well coated.
- Serve with cheese topping

Sunny side up eggs
A bright hearty breakfast for kids.
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Heat a non-stick skillet on low heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and heat for 1 minute.
- Crack each egg gently into the skillet
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Cover the skillet with a lid and cook over low heat until the egg whites have set.
- Cook for 3 minutes for runny yolk, or cook longer until the yolks are set
Serve on bread of choice.
Fruits and fruit salad

A 4-fruit salad recipe. Fruits for kids! Here is simple, quick and cheap; not to mention healthy.You can change the fruits and add other fruits to your kids liking.
Ingredients:
- 1 apple, chopped
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 orange, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup grapes, halved
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, combine the fruits.
- Add the honey and lemon juice over the fruit and toss to coat the fruit.
- Chill the salad in the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes before serving.

Here is a quick, simple recipe for Cottage Cheese and Onion Fritters that can be made in about 20 minutes. They are kid friendly and easy for children to help prepare and delicious to eat too. These are great finger food for kids and perfect for kids lunch or snack.
Cottage Cheese and Onion Fritters or Onion patties
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 10–12 minutes
Makes: 6 small fritters
Ingredients
- 220g (or 1 cup) cottage cheese
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (you can also use green onions also known as spring onions or scallions)
- 60 g (or half a cup) all-purpose flour
- Half a tsp salt
- A quarter tsp black pepper (optional)
- Sprinkle of fresh or dried herbs (optional: parsley or chives are a great addition)
- 1–2 tbsp oil or butter for cooking
Instructions
- In a bowl, add the cottage cheese and chopped onion
- Add the flour, salt, pepper and herbs (if using).
- Mix until the batter is thick and sticky. If it feels too runny, you can add 1 tbsp more flour.
- Scoop a spoonful of batter and with floured hands form into a small round flat fritter.
- Add oil or butter to a non-stick pan and heat over medium heat.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and firm.
- Repeat until all the batter is used.
Eat these alone or serve with sauces like ketchup, or a simple salad.
You can make your own variations like adding sweet corn, finely chopped sweet peppers or grated vegetables like carrots.
